Just heard The Roots on the radio in Israel! I had to come to Israel to hear The Seed by The Roots on the radio… Worth it!
Gala gala gala galatz!
I just had my feat of the day! I’m sitting on break with the other factory workers. It’s always a test of my Hebrew here. They are doing a crossword in Hebrew and I was trying to follow. I hear them talking about who wrote the shulchan aruch. I then pop up with the right answer, Joseph Karo. Thank you IU Jewish Studies! I’m uber proud of myself, not only did I know the answer but I understood their Hebrew enough to know what they were talking about (the slightly bigger feat).
In the most ridiculous coincidence I am in Israel at Kibbutz Ein Hashofet sitting with the lead guitarist and producer of Easy Star All-Stars watching a video of them perform Dub Side of the Moon!! How did this happen!!! So cool!

GPOYW: Guggenheim 50th Anniversary T-Shirt of Awesomeness Edition.
I had a wonderful morning volunteering at the Guggenheim’s 50th Anniversary Free Day. I was helping people take photographs in our 50th Anniversary Photo Booth. It was a blast and a half!
Talked to a lot of great people, and even ran into Fighterofthenightman! Which was super awesome! Scott, I wish you well in Israel and have a safe flight on Sunday!
Sickest coincidence ever. I walked out the the Guggenheim and we instantly recognized each other! I’m sorry I couldn’t stay and talk, I literally left for Israel just a few hours later! It was great meeting you!!!
Has anyone Jailbroken or unloacked their Iphone? Ill be in Israel for 6 months and i need to change carriers.

Talkin’ Hava Negeilah Blues- Bob Dylan
An Indonesian woman gave birth to this 19.2 pound bundle of joy, the country’s biggest baby ever. Doctors think gestational diabetes is to blame. We think he’s just an awesome giant. That other baby doesn’t even know what to think. Gawker
To Indonesian woman: Im sorry to your vagina.

You Made Me So Very Happy
Blood, Sweat & Tears
1969
I like this song, especially when sung by Brenda Holloway’s beautifully soulful voice. Random fact: she originally co-wrote and released this song in 1967, two years before Blood, Sweat & Tears. I wonder if there are any more contemporary examples of this in music. The only example that comes to mind is from movies, where the Hulk from 2003 was “rebooted” to make the Incredible Hulk in 2008.
There are HUNDREDS of examples of this. Everything from The Byrds making it big with Dylan’s Tambourine Man, to Alien Ant Farm making the charts with Michael Jackson’s Smooth Criminal (which was a pretty criminal remake!)
